a note about compiling evince (pdf viewer)

This page includes some directions about what the various meson directives will turn off and on, etc.

I ran into trouble with this:

-Dgspell=false: This switch turns off support for the spell checking plugin.

It appears the proper define is

-Dgspell=disabled: This switch turns off support for the spell checking plugin.

On background I am using slackware64-current and checked the dependencies per the web page linked above. I added the prerequisites including openjpeg and libhandy which are not included in the base setup of slackware that I am using. I also marked

Quote:

-Dnautilus=false: This switch disables building the Nautilus Plugin. Use this switch if Nautilus is not installed.

These steps helped me upgrade to evince 40.2. Thanks!
