5.12.13 running hot?
by tramtrist from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5KJH1)
Reported this in IRC but thought I'd bring it here.
After updating to 5.12.13 on my Lenovo X13 I noticed the laptop running hot with the fans always on. Using sensors I could see fan1 running at ~4300RPM constantly and temp1 >50C constantly
Rolling back to 5.12.12 I'm now seeing 0RPM on the fan and <50C with no other changes
At first I thought this was a pulse/pipewire issue as I have been screwing around with that but just switching kernels seems to fix this issue. I also should say that the issue does not appear til I launch a DE though it doesnt matter which one I launch.
Because of that I'm wondering if it's a display/audio driver regression or.. maybe spectre mitigation???
Anyone else seeing the same?
EDIT: Maybe? https://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/c..._if_using_amd/
