Boot-up with Ubuntu LTS 20.04 drops to BusyBox
by captaincoen from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5KMZG)
It's been like this for a few days. This is my only OS on this pc (also my first Linux pc [probably foolish for that]) and I don't have a live usb, either (certainly foolish). I've done some research into how this could happen and ran it in recovery mode. This brought up a few lines which were significant in attempts to fix it in various guides.
Code:- Missing modules (cat /proc/modules: ls /dev)
ALERT! /dev/mapper/vgubuntu-root does not exist. Dropping to a shell!I would hope to find a fix that doesn't require an outside piece of equipment, since tools and money are pretty tight. Learning how to prevent this from ever happening again would also be fantastic, since it would be useful for myself and other users.
