Ubuntu webcam recording software

Dear All,
I would like to ask the community to push into the right direction, please.
I have been tasked to gather a working, preferably open source, solution to capture two webcams into one video. One webcam being the main stream and full screen, the other being a small sized window placed in a corner of the main stream as an overlay.
Extra requirements are: an adjustable transparency overlay logo and another small screen as an overlay for other visual graphics like a moving map of a track.
I apologies in advance for using wrong terminology and explaining in such a small detail, because I do not know how to simplify this in order to give an accurate requirements.
The software ideally should be built for Ubuntu as we need to have as less dependency issues as possible. Also after failed attempts to find such a software myself I would be considering a paid for products as well, but would like to avoid to install products and find out that they are not fit for purpose.
Will appreciate your directions to the right products.
Thank you in advance
