Pizza and beer, coming to a Pizza Pizza near you

Pizza and beer, coming to a Pizza Pizza near you, Hamilton.
Steeltown has been chosen as one of two cities taking part in the launch of Pizza Pizza's plans to introduce beer sales in their locations across Canada.
We know some of our customers enjoy beer with their pizza or wings, they've told us this many times over the years. So, we thought, we should sell beer and make it available for delivery," stated Adrian Fuoco, vice-president of marketing for the company, in a release.
Ten spots across the city are now licensed to sell suds alongside their slices, according to a list provided to The Spectator by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
Beer will be available with pizza purchased on-site, for takeout and for delivery, according to the company - but that varies by location, according to the AGCO.
Approved locations are as follows:
- 1296 King St. E.;
- 958 Garth St.;
- 815 Main St. W.;
- 1001 Fennel Ave. E.;
- 85 King St. E.;
- 279 Mud St. W.;
- 374 Mohawk Rd. E.;
- 1508 Upper James St.;
- 129 Queenston Rd.;
- 49 King St. E. in Dundas.
In addition to the 10 locations already issued licences, Pizza Pizza has pending applications at four other stores, including those located at 833 Upper James St. on the Mountain, 73 Wilson St. in Ancaster, 50 Dundurn St. S. and 1281 Main St. E.
Winnipeg, MB was also chosen to take part in the launch, with nine restaurants set to be issued licences. Pizza Pizza said it plans to license many" of its restaurants across the country by the end of the year.
The company's effort to bring booze to customers comes just months after 7-Eleven announced their plans to bring liquor sales to its two Hamilton locations. City council subsequently objected to their licences.
