I'm running Current. I want to run Current forever. Best practices?

So I've run Slackware releases in the past, updating, using slackbuilds and sbopkg, etc. I will continue to run Slackware releases for my more complex projects. But for my daily web surfing, and spreadsheet laptop, my needs are simple, and I'm running Current, and want to always run Current on this laptop. I'm OK with occasional breakage.

So what should I be doing for updates and slackbuilds? A list of points or summary of the best practices would be great.
