Lightweight distro for old HP Proliant NAS/Server
by FrizzledOldButt from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5KZQX)
I have a ~8 yr old HP Proliant N40L Microserver, currently running Ubuntu server LTS 18.04 (64bit). 2G RAM. Current storage is 14T.
In the past I asked a lot of it, which it delivered. Mostly.
But now it has been scaled back, acting as a LAN file server (lvm2/ ext4) only.
Given the hassles I had installing 18.04 LTS a few years back, upgrading to 20.04 LTS seems daunting & risky. It is probably overkill anyway.
Any suggestions for a lightweight easy to install distro suited for this kind of device and its now limited application?
Thanks
