Upgrading Flatpak
by mramirez81 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5M0D4)
We are running mostly Centos 7 kernel 5.12. Secops ran security scans and determined the existing version of Flatpak that's installed is vulnerable.
flatpak - version 1.0.9-10.el7_9 is installed
As such, I need to either remove flatpak completely or upgrade it. Unfortunately, yum doesn't actually upgrade flatpak. Don't know if that's because I don't have the proper repo enabled? But removing it via 'yum remove flatpak' removes so much more including Gnome b/c of all the things that are dependent on flatpak.
So I'm looking for help on how to 1 - remove flatpak completely without causing everything else to remove along with it or 2 - upgrade flatpak to the latest version.
Any guidance?
