Linux Mint (Cinnamon) 20.2 Uma: Update Manager or Clean Install?
by FenderGuy from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5M2EW)
For those who have already upgraded, or are considering an upgrade, to the newly released Linux Mint (Cinnamon) 20.2 Uma operating system, did/will you upgrade via Update Manager, or did/will you do a clean install (i.e., wipe the old and install the new, via media)?
While the ability to upgrade via Update Manager is admittedly alluring, the list of "already known" issues seems to be daunting - and growing; OTOH, going the Update Manager route would preclude the need to reapply all those "customized tweaks" that you made along the way.
I typically want the "newest available" OS, since there always seems to be enough "value added" to convince me to take the plunge; but in this particular instance, I don't get those "warm fuzzies" that I did heretofore. I think I'll have some popcorn while I watch this rollout unfold.
What say you?
