Hello all. I use Linux (Kali) at work daily and typically FreeBSD at home although I also have a vanilla Debian VM as well. I am a web application penetration tester by trade and have been involved in InfoSec for about 15 years. All legit - I contract for the federal government so everything I do is above board. All Linux use at home is on VMs in VMware. Hosts are Macs. Hope to help as I can and I am sure learn new things as no matter how long in this field, there is always something to learn. Anyone in InfoSec that says they "know it all" is lying.
