current regional settings errors

hi all , I though I would give current a go as we are almost at 15.
going into system settings in kde (via startx) I came accross a couple of issues.
(this is current including 5.13.2 kernel)
in system settings-regional settings-input method I get an error "cannot connect to fcitx by DBus. is fcitx running?"
is this error expected?. I can't see mention of fcitx in /etc/rc.d/
but there are lots of fcitx packages installed
