Burlington woman hospitalized after being pinned in bizarre driveway incident
Halton Regional Police are investigating after a woman in her 50s was hospitalized Saturday (July 17) after being pinned in her driveway.
Burlington firefighters managed to rescue the woman after it appears she became pinned between her car and car door at around 5:15 p.m.
Halton police say the woman pulled into her driveway on Headon Forest Drive, in the area of Walkers Line and Dundas Street, and was exiting the car while it was still in motion. The wall of the garage then caused the woman to be pinned between the car door and the frame, police said.
The woman managed to call 911 on her cellphone.
Sgt. Rhonda Paxton said firefighters manually lifted the car to free the woman from being pinned when they arrived.
Halton Region Paramedics rushed the woman to hospital with injuries to her upper body.
