User account problem

Hi all!

I have installed Slackware64 14.1 both on a Virtual box VM (to make tests) and on my old computer (to make a server).

I'm facing the exact same issue on both machines: if I create a user account (either with useradd - m <userName> or adduser) and try to launch applications, it doesn't work, whereas there are no problems with the root account.

For instance: if I launch Firefox on a console, I get a segmentation fault in the case of the user.

I have never faced this issue with version 14.1 and although I took time browsing the net to find ideas about what could cause that issue, I didn't found anything yet.

So do you dudes have an idea or maybe have you already experienced such a problem?
The only test I could do is to wipe my test VM & install a 14.2 from ISO, anyway, I'd like to do this as a last resort ;)

Notes:
- this problem is the same if I create a new user on both machines.
- I didn't have this issue with the 14.1 version on both machines
- I had to install 14.1 from DVD on my server before upgrading to 14.2, because I no longer have a CD/DVD writer & I can't boot on USB on my server.
- On both machines, I have set used LVM for the whole disk
- There is plenty of free space on both machineslatest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=I0BZIxzVDPo:CMxLgZzt9PA:F7zBnMy latest?i=I0BZIxzVDPo:CMxLgZzt9PA:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=I0BZIxzVDPo:CMxLgZzt9PA:gIN9vFwI0BZIxzVDPo
