How is webpage text blocked so that it cannot be copied?

Today, I was looking up the story about a frog at the bottom of a well. Basically about people with stunted outlooks.
I have noticed a few Chinese webpages that block copying.
On this webpage, you cannot copy the text, also you cannot see the source code with a right click.
I am using Vivaldi browser. I opened Developer Tools, then I could find the text in the elements tab and copy it.
How do they block copying?
Also, this webpage downloaded is 1.4MB and 20567 lines long. No one can write that many lines. Must be generated by some software, right?
Also the text I wanted is not in the downloaded page!
