Pop-Ups at Pier 8 outdoor events scheduled throughout August
Hamilton's waterfront is set to hustle and bustle this summer with a smattering of pop-up events scheduled throughout August.
Pop-Ups at Pier 8 is a series of outdoor events like markets, children's workshops, senior coffee days and movie screenings. They are scheduled to happen on the patio of the Waterfront Trust Centre, 47 Discovery Dr., until Sept. 3.
The first one is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 1.
This outdoor event series has something for everyone while encouraging residents to explore the waterfront area at Pier 8, which has been undergoing massive upgrades and additions to enhance public access to the water's edge," said Hamilton Coun. The schedule of activities is available on the website pier8popups.ca. First up on the schedule is a patio day - Sous Bay Sunday" - from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug. 1 at the old Sarcoa patio at Pier 8.
Sous Bas has been closed during COVID and is happy to be participating every Sunday in the pop-up series, according to their Instagram account @sousbas.
A variety of local partners are involved in making the series happen, including Playhouse Cinema, Hamilton Vintage Community, and BLK OWNED HamOnt.
The release also said events will be fully accessible with COVID-19 public safety measures in place, including contact tracing, enforced capacity, physical distancing and masking.
