borg backups on multiple destinations
by marozsas from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5MPT1)
Hi,
Currently, I am using borgmatic to handle my backups on a external USB disk.
Now I have a external networked disk, nothing fancy, its a 2T Seagate device that supports rsync/FTP for off-line access and windows remote folders/shares for on-line access that I would like to use to have an additional tier of protection.
I would like to backup the same data on 2 different destinations: the local disk and the remote one, but not at the same time. I mean, at one session I run the backup on the local disk and at another session the data goes to the external disk.
AFAIK, I can duplicate the config files with a different name and another destination and manually choose to run the backup on local disk and on next run I choose to run the another backup, the one that saves on remote disk.
Looks awkward and depends on my memory to remember which was run last time.
Anyone knows a better (automatically/smart) alternative than the above ?
I looked at borg resources for a plugin or something but I found nothing.
