New South Wales premier Gladys Berejiklian pleads with Sydney residents to stay at home as 170 new Covid cases are recorded. She warns against people attending anti-lockdown protests over the weekend. 'Do not give those you love the most a death sentence. This Delta strain is contagious, it's deadly and it's affecting people of all ages,' she says. Chief health officer Kerry Chant says people are delaying seeking treatment, which affects the care that can be offered. She says her key message is get tested quickly if you have any symptoms including cough, fever, headache, loss of taste and smell, sore throat or muscle aches and pains.
