Refreshing file in USB connected device
by arubin from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5MX11)
I have a Nikon device which connects to a digital camera that is used for photomicrography. This is connected to the computer by USB.
The device folder under /run/media/~ shows a jpg file.
When connected to Windows every time that one re-opens the jpg file (the easiest way to do this is to open it in a browser and simply refresh the page) the image that comes up corresponds to the image that the camera is seeing at the time.
When connected to Linux everytime that one opens the jpg file or refreshes the image what one sees is the image that the device saw when it was turned on. Even disconnecting and reconnecting the device does not refresh the image.
One gets the impression that the device is behaving differently when connected to Windows as compared to Linux but there is nothing changing in the device settings. There were no special proprietary drivers installed in Windows.
Does anyone have any ideas what is going on here? What can I do to get this device to work properly connected to Linux?
Thanks
