Where to learn basic Slax commands?

Not long ago I loaded Slax with persistence on a flash drive, and I am finally trying it out with much joy. However, I am such a newbie that I don't even know how to check my version (probably 9.11) or basic commands such as those to load additional software. From what I have been able to find so far, Slax uses some general Linux commands but some that are unique. Is there a Slax-specific tutorial that shows basic keystrokes for a newbie unfamiliar with Linux? Also, how to find and launch software after it is installed? Will an icon show up on the desktop alongside others already there (Terminal ... Web Browser ... Task Manager)?
