One-year-old girl dies after drowning in Burlington backyard swimming pool
A one-year-old girl has died in hospital after a drowning in a Burlington backyard swimming pool last month, Halton police say.
Police were called to a Burlington home on Kevin Crescent, near Walkers Line and Upper Middle Road, on July 25 at 1:48 p.m. for reports of a drowning.
When emergency responders arrived, a 19-month-old girl was pulled from the backyard pool and life-saving measures were performed, Halton police said. The child was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Const. Steve Elms confirmed that the child died in hospital on Saturday morning.
Neighbours told Inside Halton the family living in the home recently moved into the neighbourhood.
