Sometimes, even the smallest Christmas gift can carry the most weight.

Just ask Laurie-Ann Sprague.

The Hamilton woman won $100,000 on Dec. 24 after matching six words in an OLG Instant Crossword ticket gifted to her by her husband.

I had six words, so I passed it to my husband to take a look," Sprague, a regular lotto player, is quoted as saying in an OLG news release. "We both realized I won $100,000 and I started to cry and shake. It was the most incredible Christmas gift!"

The winning ticket was purchased at Welcome Mart on Barton Street East days before Christmas.

Sprague, a health industry retiree, said she plans to save her winnings for a trip to Las Vegas in 2022.

We will also pay some bills, save some and treat our cat to some special toys."
