Expand a LVM in a virtual machine?
by riahc3 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5N53P)
Hello
I have a LVM and I want to expand it.
The OS is CentOS 7 and its running on Hyper-V.
In Hyper-V Ive expanded the disk and CentOS DOES seem to see that the (virtual) drive is bigger.
The difficult parts seems to be expanding it. There is a lot of information, mixed, that I need clarification.
1: I would not like to reboot again. I had to shutdown the machine because it had a stray snapshot. I deleted it and now I can expand it freely.
2: Creating another partition apart and adding it to the logical group seems to be sloppy.
3: Similar, creating another virtual disk in Hyper-V and adding it, seems to be the same as two.
My idea is to just expand the partition and thats it. That way I dont reach the 4 primary partition limit, I dont have 100 of virtual disks in Hyper-V.........
How can I do this?
Thank you
