Dak Prescott is continuing to work his way back from a right shoulder strain that sidelined him during training camp, but the quarterback and his Dallas Cowboys are remaining cautious.

Prescott intends to undergo another MRI after his team's return to Dallas next week from its training camp headquarters in Oxnard, California, the Cowboys announced Wednesday.

The Cowboys aimed to alleviate any fears regarding the MRI.

It's not a setback.
And it's not a reason to worry.
But QB Dak Prescott is planning on getting another MRI.

Prescott won't play in Friday's preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals but said he plans to be on the field for the Cowboys' third exhibition contest versus the Houston Texans on Aug. 21, according to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News.

The 28-year-old, who left practice July 28 and didn't participate in throwing activities for almost two weeks as a result, threw for a second consecutive day Wednesday while performing in every passing drill at camp.

Prescott remains on track to start the season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sept. 9 in what would be his first regular-season appearance since October.
