fb0: switching to amdgpudrmfb from EFI VGA on -current with 5600G
by downhomechunk from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5N7TE)
i built a new computer for the first time in 10 years (yay!). it's an AMD Ryzen 5600G based system. i am using integrated graphics only with no discrete gpu.
i need to UEFI boot because of my NVME drive. i previously ran 14.2 with lilo and no uefi. i successfully installed -current with elilo.
the system boots normally until it goes to start up the integrated GPU. i thought i was hanging on this spot-

however i read this which explained my issue further-

the system is not actually hanging, it's continuing to boot. it's just not outputting anything to the monitor. i tried to boot liveslack from a usb stick and get the same problem.
i am not sure how i can try to implement any of the fixes in the above URL since i can't boot all the way to a command prompt to log in, at least not one that i can see on my monitor.
i do have an old GTX 650 i can throw in to troubleshoot further, but i wanted to check here first for better ideas.
