Pedestrian hit by car last week dies from injuries
A 64-year-old Hamilton man has died from his injuries after he was hit by a car last week.
Hamilton police said the man was walking south across Barton Street East, at Grosvenor Avenue, around 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 11, when he was hit by a eastbound Chevrolet Cruze.
The driver of the car remained on scene and the 64-year-old was taken to hospital where his injuries initially did not appear life-threatening.
However, his condition deteriorated and on Monday, Aug. 16, police were notified that the man had died. The collision reconstruction unit has taken over the investigation.
Detectives are looking to speak with witnesses to determine what happened.
No charges have been laid.
