The Carolina Panthers traded linebacker Denzel Perryman to the Las Vegas Raiders, the team announced Wednesday.

Las Vegas will also receive a seventh-round pick in exchange for a sixth-rounder.

Perryman's time with the Panthers concludes before he played a single snap for the team. Carolina signed him to a two-year, $6-million deal during free agency, but injuries have bothered Perryman. He dealt with a hip flexor ailment earlier in camp before missing the last two days due to a foot issue.

The 28-year-old will reunite with defensive coordinator Gus Bradley in Las Vegas. The two previously spent time together with the Los Angeles Chargers. Bradley served as defensive coordinator of the Chargers from 2017 to 2020, while Perryman spent six seasons with the franchise from 2015 to 2020.

The Raiders were on the lookout for linebacker depth due to injuries to Nicholas Morrow and Javin White. Head coach Jon Gruden noted both players will be out "a while" earlier Wednesday, according to ESPN's Paul Gutierrez. Linebacker Darron Lee was also placed on the injured reserve Tuesday.

Perryman has struggled with injuries throughout his career, and the six-year veteran has yet to play in all 16 games during a campaign. He recorded 48 tackles and one sack across 13 contests in 2020.
