"Video Downloader" based on YouTube-dl - can it download .mkv or .mp4 instead of .webm?
by grumpyskeptic from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5NXFR)
I am using Linux Mint Mate 20.2 Uma.
I cannot find any guides or manuals for Video Downloader, illustrated here https://snapcraft.io/install/video-downloader/mint but also available from Software Manager. It is based on YouTube-dl.
1) Is it possible to get it to download .mkv or .mp4 rather than .webm? How?
2) Are there any advantages in using .webm?
3) Is it possible to give it a list of URLs for downloading?
4) In the extremely sparse settings, what is the significance of checking/ticking the black circle or the white circle?
I have done a lot of searching including Github and I cannot find any instructions for it.
As far as it goes it is simple to use and works well.
Thanks.
