The New York Giants traded defensive lineman B.J. Hill to the Cincinnati Bengals in exchange for offensive lineman Billy Price, the team announced Monday.

New York has been looking for help on the offensive line this offseason; the Giants ranked 32nd and 23rd in pass- and run-blocking in 2020, respectively, according to PFF. They also allowed 50 sacks last year, tied for the second-most in the NFL.

The Giants also saw offensive linemen Zach Fulton and Joe Looney surprisingly retire soon after signing with the team during the offseason.

Price hasn't met expectations since Cincinnati drafted him 21st overall in 2018. He started only one game for the Bengals' struggling offensive line last year, posting a 29.4 pass-blocking grade, according to PFF. The 26-year-old Ohio State product - who has experience at center and guard - has allowed 5.5 sacks in 42 games since entering the league.

Price will provide depth for New York's offensive line behind center Nick Gates and guards Shane Lemieux and Will Hernandez.

Hill racked up 32 tackles and one sack while playing 35% of the Giants' defensive snaps last year. Drafted by New York in the third round in 2018, he started 12 games as a rookie while setting career highs with 48 tackles and 5.5 sacks. The 26-year-old has recorded only two sacks since 2019.

Cincinnati's pass rush struggled last year, recording a league-low 17 sacks. Hill provides depth to a defensive line featuring Trey Hendrickson, D.J. Reader, Larry Ogunjobi, and Sam Hubbard.
