Booting issue on LinuxMint 19

The booting routine on my Linux Mint 19 XFCE installation hangs before it gets to the login screen. I tried to it repair it myself using Boot-repair - unsuccessfully. I managed to generate two paste-bin sequences which I will give here. I believe experienced users can make sense of them, and solve my problem, so that I don't have to reinstall the operating system all over again.
