Brightness controls not working in Xubuntu 20.04 LTS

I've installed Xubuntu on my laptop. Brightness controls are not working, rest everything is working fine. Brightness control keys on the keyboard are not working. Brightness controls on the panel(inside Battery icon) are not working as well. Slider is moving but brightness doesn't change.
I'm looking at a very bright screen. Your help will be appreciated.
