Man in custody after police find $15,000 of cannabis products in central Hamilton traffic stop

A man is in custody after police found thousands of dollars worth of cannabis products in a traffic stop in central Hamilton Friday evening.

Shortly after 6 p.m. Friday, officers stopped a vehicle without a front license plate at Wilson Street East and Victoria Avenue North. After smelling the odour of marijuana, police searched the vehicle and found a large quantity" of drugs, said Staff Sgt. Shane Groombridge.

Police seized 818 grams of cannabis flower, 235 mL of cannabis oil, 124 grams of shatter (a derivative of marijuana) and 710 gummies with a combined street value of $15,000.

A man in his 20s is in custody.
