Symbolic Link help?

Hi all I need help with a gaming problem.
I running PopOS and installed Steam to play Elder Scrolls Online.
I installed the game from Steam fine but when I run it Zenimax Online installer runs and complains that it don't have write access. It's installing itself to z:\home\jp\Steam Games\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online. Which in my understanding is in root.
I want to make a symbolic link from z: to my home Steam Games directory.
Is this the correct way to do it: ln -s <source_file_directory> <link_file_directory>? And will I have write access if I do this? Thanks all I apprecite the help.
