Backup of QEMU/KVM VM's
by trafikpolisen from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5P8E4)
Hi!
I have a small home server running Ubuntu Server, with a few QUEMU/KVM VM's running on it. I would like to backup those VM's in their entirety. When I google how to backup QEMU/KVM VM's, it seems the way to do it is to use "virsh dumpxml" and copy the qcow2 file. Couldn't I just shut down the VM's and rsync the "/var/lib/libvirt" and "/etc/libvirt" (where the VM xml files seems to be located) directories?
Thank you all!
