Things to do in the Hamilton area this weekend

Fall is in the air.
The whirl of a midway, ships at sail, and some charity fundraisers are just part of what's on the bill for this weekend, rain or shine.
An early report from Environment Canada is calling for mainly sunny conditions Saturday before clouding up with a 40 per cent chance of showers on Sunday. Daytimes highs are expected to be around 25 C.
Here are some things happening in the Hamilton area to keep you out and about this weekend.
CAMBRIDGE FALL FAIR
Cambridge Fall Fair with midway, shows and live music runs daily now until Sunday. Watch their website for a schedule and admission. Live entertainment features Pauly & The Goodfellas on Saturday, Sept. 11, 8 p.m. The fair is located at Dickson Park, 30 Parkhill Rd. W., Cambridge. thefallfair.ca
FUNDRAISERS
Get out and move to our charitable community. Fall is a season of walk-a-thons, awareness campaigns and fundraisers. Most are happening virtually and here are some of events happening in the Hamilton area this weekend.
BRIGHT Run 2021 supporters are a hair away from year's $300,000 fundraising goal. Saturday's virtual event is offering individual and team registrations. Walk, run and support local breast cancer research. You can sign up and run or donate by visiting brightrun.ca.
Hamilton's Myeloma March is Saturday at Confederation Park. While registration for the in person event is full, you can still join in via Zoom at 9 a.m., and share in the energy and excitement of this 5 km fundraising walk. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87280285652#success
Join the Parkinson Canada Superwalk for a live virtual opening ceremony Saturday, at 11 a.m. then SuperWalk Your Way with Walk in a Box. parkinson.ca.
The Hamilton/Burlington SPCA Wiggle Waggle Walk is doing things a little different again this year. The 32nd Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk (Your Way!) as a virtual event on Sunday. The first 150 people to register will receive a FREE Swag-gle bag full of pet-parent-approved goodies from various event sponsors, including the presenting sponsor, Ren's Pets.
The Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope is virtual. On Sunday you can walk any route you want, and choose who you want to walk with. Then, tune into the online closing ceremony for live entertainment, inspiring stories from community members, and updates on the impact you're making in women's lives.
Note: The Terry Fox Virtual run is Sept. 19.
MUSEUM MOVIES
Hamilton Civic Museums is presenting a series of outdoor movie screenings in partnership with Fresh Air Films and the Hamilton Film Office. Watch some of your favourite blockbusters at Hamilton historic sites. Limited tickets are available for these free movies. CROWN POINT GARAGE SALE
Crown Point residents have chosen Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., for the Crown Point Neighbourhood Garage Sale. More than 140 sales will be peppered throughout the neighbourhood. All participants are encouraged to wear masks and follow provincial health guidelines. VOLUNTEER BARBECUE
Erland Lee (Museum) Home is hosting a volunteer recruitment and appreciation barbecue for those who have an interest in history, artifacts, events or are just looking to join a supportive community of friendly folks. GARDEN TOUR
Six local gardens are featured in the 2021 Carnegie Secret Gardens Tour on Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the Carnegie Gallery, 10 King St. W., Dundas, and the Keeping Room, 6 Cross St., also in Dundas. The ticket gives you entrance to five gardens in Dundas and one in Ancaster. Gardens range from pocket size to almost half an acre. CELEBRATE BEES
Join the beekeeper and celebrate bees this weekend. Mountsberg Honey Harvest is Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Mountsberg Conservation Area, 2259 Milburough Line, Campbellville. Cost is $20 per person plus gate fees. Tour of the bee yard, then head inside to take part in uncapping frames and harvesting honey. Try your hand at spinning the honey extractor and be treated to the first taste of 2021's honey crop. Time slots are limited, visit conservationhalton.ca
SAIL A TALL SHIP
The tall ship TS Playfair, whose home is now in Hamilton harbour, is offering an adult sail opportunity Sept. 19 to 24. As an adult trainee, you don't have to have any experience. The tour departs from Toronto and makes its way back to Hamilton. It's a little pricey at a cost of $825 plus tax but when will you ever have another chance to sail Lake Ontario in a tall ship?
