Notorious anti-masker Chris Sky arrested at Hamilton protest
Hamilton police say they arrested two people who attended an anti-vaccine protest held in Gore Park Friday afternoon.
In a press release Saturday evening, police said a 38-year-old King City man was arrested for failing to comply with a court-imposed release order. The man was held in custody and released following a bail hearing, according to the release.
Videos posted to Twitter Friday night showed anti-lockdown proponent Chris Saccoccia, also known as Chris Sky, being arrested by Hamilton police officers outside of central station.
Saccoccia was previously arrested by Toronto police back in May for allegedly threatening to shoot several people, including elected officials, over the phone.
He was charged with three counts of uttering threats, assaulting a peace officer with a weapon and dangerous operation of a vehicle.
Police said a 39-year-old Brampton woman was also arrested on an outstanding warrant and was later released.
Both of the individuals face charges under the Reopening Ontario Act for organizing an event that exceeded the gathering limits permitted in the province, according to the release.
Police are reminding the public that participation in gatherings that exceed limits set by the province could result in charges.
