help installing Linux Mint on Dell Latitude

I'm trying to install Linux Mint for the first time. I used a USB drive with the iso on it to install Linux on my Dell Latitude laptop. I selected erase the computer before installing. I can run Linux from the USB, but when I try to run it from the laptop I get the error "Selected boot device failed. Press any key to reboot the system". My BIOS boot is set for UEFI. I don't want Legacy, right? Secure Boot is Disabled.
