Bios corruped or failed hard drive
by chip939 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5PJWX)
Dell Inspiron running Ubuntu 20.04.3 recently installed
Machine will not boot and I cannot access boot setup with F2 or F12
On startup only journaling is running indicating: EXT4-fs ERROR (device sda2): ext4_lookup:1697: inode #20710839: com systemd: iget: bad_extra_isize 9234 (inode size 256)
The above entry was the last of hundreds scrollng along very slowly
I have left this process run for about 6 hours hoping it would repair but I'm not sure the problem is a corrupted bios or failed disk or both.
Advice appreciated
Thanks
