Miami Dolphins wide receiver Will Fuller is away from the team because of a personal issue and there's no timetable for his return, head coach Brian Flores said Friday, according to the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson.

Fuller missed practice Friday after leaving the team facility the day before. He was on track to make his Dolphins debut in Week 2 after sitting out the opener to complete a suspension he received last year for failing a drug test.

"One day at a time," Flores told reporters. "He has my support. Things happen. When they happen, they're not part of normal every day, it's a surprise from that standpoint. He's dealing with it. We'll support him."

Miami signed Fuller to a one-year, $10-million contract in free agency, prying him away from the Houston Texans. Fuller posted career highs in receptions (53), receiving yards (879), and touchdowns (eight) last year in 11 games, but the failed drug test put the validity of those numbers in question.

Flores said the Dolphins intend to keep Fuller on the 53-man roster, allowing him to return to the team at any time.

The Dolphins are 1-0 entering Sunday's affair with the Buffalo Bills.
