The Cleveland Browns placed wide receiver Jarvis Landry on injured reserve due to a knee injury, meaning he'll miss at least the next three weeks, the team announced Tuesday.

Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Landry sustained an MCL sprain during Sunday's win against the Houston Texans and was considered week-to-week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Landry was hurt on the opening drive against the Texans. He caught a 9-yard pass on Cleveland's first offensive snap before leaving the field, and the veteran didn't return.

The five-time Pro Bowler hauled in five receptions for 71 yards during Cleveland's season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs, adding 13 rushing yards and a touchdown.

The Browns are already playing without wideout Odell Beckham Jr., who's still rehabbing from knee surgery.

The team will likely expand the roles given to Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones, and Anthony Schwartz during Landry's absence.

Cleveland will host the Chicago Bears in Week 3.
