Delay in wine-6.12
by business_kid from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5PXEC)
I'm on the Slackware64-15.0 Beta, and I updated wine from version 6.1 to version 6.12. Nearly the only thing I use it for is the Watchtower Library (32bit) Program, a searchable database.
Updating wine has added 25-30 seconds to the startup time, which is significant. Nothing else has changed.
About the only thing I can think of doing is reinstalling the Watchtower Library. That goes fine but it's a real pain because there's about 5 gigs of updates in the form of compressed archives which have to be (slowly) expanded and the whole thing restarted each time. The Program dates from 2018 so there's nothing bleeding edge about it.
Is there anything I should know or update that I haven't thought about?
EDIT: These packages (wine-6.1, & 6.12) are Alien Bob's 64/32 compiles, and of course the box has Multilib installed.
