Two top Hamilton public works staffers no longer work for city
Two leaders in Hamilton's public works department have left city hall.
General manager Dan McKinnon and water director Andrew Grice no longer work for the city.
Lora Fontana, executive director of human resources, confirmed their departures in an email Friday.
She declined to discuss the circumstances of their departures, citing privacy restrictions relating to personnel matters.
At this point, no decision has made respecting acting (general manager) or (director)," Fontana said in an email.
City manager Janette Smith will assume responsibility until further notice," Fontana noted.
McKinnon, who started working with the city in 1994, stepped into the large department's top job in 2017 after Gerry Davis retired. He became director of Hamilton water in 2012.
Grice took over for McKinnon when he became general manager.
Neither have immediately returned The Spectator's calls for comment.
More to come.
