[LFS 11.0 - Systemd] Change resolution/font size of initial login terminal

Hello --

Very recently, I successfully booted my first LFS system. I've started taking the first few steps into BLFS territory.

Since I will be working terminal-only for a long while until I can install a graphical desktop. I'd like to customize my terminal settings early on.

The current terminal resolution/fonts don't really fit my monitor. Not only are the fonts huge but there's a large blank offset at the top left. I've attached a crudely highlighted pic showing what my monitor looks like immediately after login. I've also attached a screenshot of a fullscreen terminal running on my LM 20.2 host system (1920x1080). This is what I am looking to duplicate.

Things I have already researched & tried:
- added a "vga=" parameter passed via GRUB
- adding/changing GRUB_GFXMODE=
- adding/changing GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=

At this point, I feel a little lost and wary of trying anything more extreme. Any advice would be appreciated.

Also, I know how to change the colors/format of my prompt and output. I'll take care of that after I get the resolution and/or fonts correct.

Thanks!
