Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn told reporters Thursday that he hasn't talked to anyone at USC about the school's head coaching job.

"My sister graduated from USC. I have half my family in California. A lot of the guys that I played with went to USC. So of course those guys have talked to me, and that's flattering," Lynn said, according to Kyle Meinke of MLive. "But to be honest with you, I'm surprised something like this even went public, you know? I haven't spoken with USC at all."

His comments were a response to news from NFL reporter Jim Trotter that USC boosters had reached out to gauge Lynn's interest in the Trojans' gig.

Lynn, who was hired by Detroit this offseason, said his focus is "1,000,000%" with the Lions. However, he was noncommittal when asked whether he'd be interested in the USC role after the 2021 season wraps up.

Right now I don't even have time to think about something like that, you know?" Lynn said.

USC fired head coach Clay Helton earlier in September after he spent six-plus seasons at the helm. Donte Williams is serving as the team's interim sideline boss.
