Facebook unlocks Messenger to third-party apps

Mark Zuckerberg expected to unveil plans to open up social network's messaging app, much like it did its website
Facebook may have paid $19bn for WhatsApp last year, but its Messenger app is expected to take centre stage at the social network's F8 conference on Wednesday.
Chief executive Mark Zuckerberg will deliver the keynote address, and is expected to announce plans to turn Facebook Messenger into a platform for apps created by other companies.
