Bears' Montgomery suffers knee injury vs. Lions
Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery exited Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions due to a knee injury and did not return.
Montgomery went down and grabbed his left knee late in the game before heading to the locker room. Chicago officially ruled him out shortly after.
The third-year tailback will have an MRI on Monday to confirm the severity of the ailment, but the initial belief is that he avoided a major injury, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 24-year-old put together an impressive performance before the injury, rushing for 106 yards and two touchdowns. His two scores helped lead Chicago to a 24-14 victory over its NFC North foes.
Montgomery, a 2019 third-round pick, entered Week 4 with 203 yards on the ground. He recorded his first 1,000-plus-yard rushing season last year while also adding 438 receiving yards.
