Openrazer or Polychromatic messed up my resolution
by makem from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5QE2H)
I have a fancy Razer keyboard and wanted to control (get rid of actually) the changing colour scheme. All I needed was to be able to identify when the caps lock was active.
In Ubuntu 20.04 I installed Openrazer:
https://itsfoss.com/set-up-razer-devices-linux/
I installed Polychromatic:
https://polychromatic.app/download/
Both had a ppa in my sources.
When I start the polychromatic gui it/they fail to find the keyboard. I rebooted and my display is now a crazy 1024 x 768 and really terrible.
I purged the system of both programs and removed the ppas, rebooted and no change. I am still stuck with no resolution change possible.
How can I get rid of ALL the stuff I have mistakenly installed?
EDIT: Using Synaptic I found other bits and pieces of these programs left behind and removed them. Still no ability to to change resolution. It is as if something is preventing the default Display setting program from working. Could I reinstall that?
