Packers hope Alexander's shoulder heals without surgery
The Green Bay Packers hope star cornerback Jaire Alexander can avoid surgery on his sprained shoulder.
"We got better clarity with that," head coach Matt LaFleur said Friday, according to Mike Spofford of Packers.com. "We're going to let it heal and see where it's at down the line before making that determination."
Alexander injured his shoulder on a fourth-down stop in the second half of the Packers' win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4. The 24-year-old has only missed four games in his career and just one over the last two years.
"We're hopeful it'll heal the right way and he'll be back with us in a matter of weeks," LaFleur added.
Alexander has three pass breakups and an interception in 2021. He enjoyed a breakout 2020 campaign, as he surrendered a mere 337 yards en route to his first Pro Bowl selection.
