Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is on "voice rest" following his precautionary hospital visit for a throat injury, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Wednesday, according to ESPN's Ben Baby.

"Everything's going good," Taylor said. "We're just limiting what he has to say and how he's gotta use his voice through today."

Burrow was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure after sustaining a bruised throat during Sunday's 25-22 overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers. He was not required to stay for observation after further evaluation.

The sophomore passer didn't meet with the media for his usual press conference after the Bengals' medical staff advised him to speak as little as possible following his hospital visit.

Burrow, 24, took his usual reps during Cincinnati's walkthrough Wednesday and is expected to start Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

The 2020 No. 1 pick and former Heisman Trophy winner has started all five contests for Cincinnati (3-2) this season after missing the final six games of his rookie campaign due to a knee injury.

Burrow has passed for 1,269 yards and 11 touchdowns against six interceptions while completing 68% of his pass attempts in 2021.
