Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Richard Sherman will miss a few weeks but avoid going on injured reserve after exiting Thursday's 28-22 win over the Philadelphia Eagles with a hamstring issue, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Sherman left the prime-time contest in the first quarter after pulling up following Quez Watkins' 23-yard reception.

The three-time All-Pro signed with the reigning Super Bowl champions on Sept. 29 after several members of Tampa Bay's secondary suffered injuries.

The 33-year-old made his first start with the Buccaneers against the New England Patriots just days after inking his deal.

Sherman entered Thursday as the league's active leader in interceptions with 36. He's recorded 10 tackles and recovered a fumble through two games.

Tampa Bay was already without starting defenders Antoine Winfield and Lavonte David, who were ruled out before Thursday's matchup.

Dee Delaney replaced Sherman following the injury.

The Buccaneers return to action on Oct. 24 against the Chicago Bears.
