Police arrest five more in connection with car flipping at ‘fake’ McMaster homecoming

Hamilton police have arrested an additional five people in connection with a car flipping and other damage that occurred at an unsanctioned fake McMaster homecoming" party on Oct. 2.

Investigators have reviewed video and images from the event and have since made five additional arrests," police said in a release Friday morning.

Police said they have charged an 18-year-old McMaster University student from Acton, an 18-year-old Waterloo University student from Acton, an 18-year-old York University student from Acton, a 20-year-old McMaster University student from Stoney Creek, and a 20-year-old from Smithville who is not a student with mischief over $5,000.

In total, 13 people have now been charged in connection with the Dalewood Avenue street party, including a 19-year-old Wilfrid Laurier University student from Burlington who wascharged with mischief under $5,000 in connection with damage to the car flipped by partiers.

Seven others were charged with liquor licence act offences and breach of the peace/cause disturbance the day of the party.

Police say they are not looking for additional suspects and thank those who helped in their investigation. They ask anyone with more information to contact acting Det. Sgt. John Obrovac at 905-546-3833.
